There are 4 criteria we use to evaluate web pages. The 4 criteria are Authority, Accuracy, Currency, and Objectivity. Authority tells us who is responsible for the website and their qualifications. Accuracy allows us to know if the information on the website is factual by including a list of resources and links to reputable resources. Currency informs us of when the information was written and published. Lastly, Objectivity presents information from a non-biased view point.
I learned the proper terms for the criteria we look for when evaluating websites. I also learned about the things to be aware of when spotting a bad web page. Problem sites include no dates, no authors, no contact information, no linked resources, and no biased perspectives.
